PetÅ™ín Hill is a hill located in the centre of Prague, rising around 130m above the left bank of the Vltava River. Located in an outer suburb in the north of the city, this luxury baroque palace is surrounded by gardens and vineyards which are overflowing with exotic plant life that will be beginning to bloom in April. Built for the Counts of Sternberg between 1679 and 1691, this palace features architecture inspired by France and Italy, with a striking white and terracotta façade and triangular roofs. One of the highlights of the palace is the staircase which depicts a struggle between the gods of antiquity, the titans and symbolical figures representing day, night and the continents.
